Why is finding meaning in life so hard?

Feeling lost is something many people experience today. Might you be feeling as though there may be something missing? Maybe you feel like there aren’t any quality reasons to wake up in the morning?

If you do, you’re not alone. Many people are experiencing these feelings. You wouldn’t know it, of course. Too many people are great at hiding their innermost feelings of insecurity and fear. The truth is that most folks are completely perplexed when it comes to living their lives with a great sensation of purpose.

It is possible for you to realize what it is you were placed here on Earth to do. In fact, internalizing that you were born for a purpose is one of the preliminary steps to discovering your purpose and finding meaning in life.

We all live in a time where humans have been reduced to commodities. Large corporations see their human workers as replaceable parts. Advertisers see readers and viewers as nothing more than dollar signs. The big urban sprawls have created an environment of separation and seclusion.

What you must do is know deep within your soul that you are not a commodity. You are exceptional. You were born for more than you may be experiencing today. This might be difficult to accept after living a long time experiencing immense panic about life in general.

As soon as you shift your understanding of life to a thought process where you observe yourself and all the folks around you as unique, extraordinary, and magical that you begin to sense your true purpose in life.

You will determine that finding meaning in life orbits around your aptitude to serve and help others. No longer will you focus on accumulating as many material goods as possible. The material universe lacks gratification and bliss when your inner spirit is lacking a feeling of importance.

Have you ever realized how many “successful” people (in terms of large incomes and many possessions) are shocked to realize that “achievement” hasn’t brought about an inner emotion of satisfaction or gratification? Instead, they find themselves feeling drained, still attempting to find some sense of purpose or meaning.

Learn from this. It’s vital that you stop thinking that you’ll finally become happy at some point in the future.

When you take the time to discover your life purpose, you’ll comprehend the influence that finding meaning in life brings to you. When you’re lucky enough to live each day using your innate talents, bringing delight to others, and impacting the world in a upbeat manner, life is enjoyable.

Life is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. Life isn’t fun when you lack purpose and have no sense for why you should get up each day.

Your life is a journey of self-discovery. It’s a journey filled with problems to conquer. Those problems take energy and gusto on your part in order for you to be successful in living your destiny.

Think long and hard about where your life is headed. If you’re sad and experiencing despair more often than delight and enthusiasm, then it’s time for you to step back, reflect on your inner needs, and come to a decision to live purposely. Finding meaning in life is the only way to experiencing the cheerfulness you wish for.

In Isaiah 60:1-2 Says that its time to arise and shine for the glory of God is on us. It goes on to say that gross darkness shall rise upon the earth and people all over the world shall be attracted to your light. They shall want to know why you are not going down with them. Why are your businesses flourishing in these economic hardship times? Why do you have so much glory on you and your family? Why is it that everything that you touch springs back to life, even businesses on their knees.

The power of God in your life cannot let you go down with the rest. He will keep you and provide for you. Just as he instructed ravens to feed his prophet Elijah in a time of great famine, so shall he make provisions for you at this time. God has to make it known that he is alive and he takes care of his faithful servants. He will never forsake you in your time of need, in fact he is waiting for you with open arms. Ask and it shall be given to you.

As a result of the abundance in your courts, people will be attracted to you. They will want to serve the God you serve for it will be clear enough that he is the true and living God. They shall even want to bless you more and be part of you. Kings and great men shall seek you for you have something that they need. Lord Jesus Christ reigning in you.

Yoga that I was taught was incredibly difficult and almost impossible to do at first. There were some serious hangups in the beginning but like anything once you get some practice it gets a whole lot easier. Knowing what Yoga is all about really helps to achieve the end result in each practice much clearer.

Yoga to me is a spiritual practice of extroversion. While much of our religious or mystical endeavors are introverted mental practices focusing on the mind, like meditation and prayer. Yoga is designed to focus on the body and the mind together. Which can be a much more thorough approach to understanding the self.

“Know thyself.” – Persian Maxim from Zarathustra or Zoroaster

“In man all things are hidden.” – Taken from the Qabalah author unknown.

Most people learn more by doing than reading. Both combined are what makes a thorough comprehension on the subjects studied. Applying what you learn is important, There is NO substitute for direct experience, that’s what I always say about anything I’m discussing.

To put it simply, would you go jumping out of an airplane with a skydiver who has never actually done it before, but maybe read all about it took classes and the like. Not me, I would feel much more comfortable with someone who has prior experience.

There are eight different sections otherwise known as extensions or limbs of Yoga. Asana was the first that was on the list from which I learned. The definition offered was ‘Posture’ gaining control over the body. Then, the practices were described as sitting in one position and tense every single muscle in the entire body. Pushing the tip of the tongue against the lower teeth and outwardly folding the rest of the tongue towards the mouth. This would prevent the jaw from clenching and after all the tongue is also a muscle. Doing this and remaining Completely still (or as still as possible )for the length minimum of 1 hour.

It can be done, trust me! It took me a while, after I broke my record and got past the first 5 mins., the next time I went to 23 mins. then an hour and 22 mins. It is best to keep a journal of all your practices. Yes it is painful but when you are done you feel like you can accomplish ANYTHING! It is excellent for the body and your health.

Yoga has eight limbs or branches. I will only be discussing the first few here, and write another article describing the others. In my opinion each limb is worthy of an entire treatise all it’s own. Yoga, as any good yogi will tell you; can be almost anything. However, anything cannot be yoga. The true through paradigm. Good yoga is a consistent persistence in order to lasso the mind into your true will of control. Hence the first two limbs Yama and Niyama.

Yama: meaning control. Is the first limb of Yoga.
Niyama, the second limb, which can only be interpreted as control over your control beyond the nature and finite complexities of control. Hoe- hum- drum, the paradox rears her wondrous stare back on us. Spiritual practices are just that, though. Often times we are consigned to do a thing unwittingly and unconsciously aware of any real outwardly significant benefit. Then after the grasshopper hops through routine after routine always hopping then suddenly the grasshopper jumps. Which is what many people,(not just Oprah)has deemed what is commonly known as an ‘Aha’ moment.

Next comes the first actual practice or exercise with which the other principals are applied.

Asana- The practice described above.

Then comes Pranayama, meaning control or regularization of breath. This practice can actually increase your brain power. It pushes blood flow through otherwise dormant vessels in the brain. I will write extensively on this in another article.

Mantra Yoga is exactly how is sounds. Reciting a word or phrase over and over again until you become lost in the act. Mantra’s are useful in so many ways. I always imagine “It think I can I think i can I think I can”. Ultimately, recurring into I can, I think, I can, I think, then back again. An excellent example.

Yes Mantra Yoga, my little helper. Yogayogayogayoga! Now say that fifteen times fast. I imagine at times you will eventually see yourself or hear rather, saying gayogayogayo and technically that’s the point. The point being a mantra which is an actual integral part of the yoga exercise. Real yoga that is. Well, I can’t really say that anything is fake yoga, but definitely fad like.

Fact is, I believe that mantra is a widely overlooked stepping stone or good tip, even better: trick to the trade. Yoga as well as being many things including or all things or no thing can be best described at least in a western state of thinking or speaking “external meditating”. Using or rather pushing the body towards its advantageous limits, in order to maintain good health and inner peace. As in the case of Asana. Mantra the mental tool can be the help that gets u over the hump. And in real hard yoga one needs all the help one can get.

These days its hard not to come across health and fitness advertisements, especially in the United States. Somewhere, in all the ads, undoubtedly you will come across yoga. Now, there are many types of Yoga. For instance, there is Hatha-yoga, Raja yoga, Pradipika yoga, Mantra yoga and many more than I am even aware of. I must admit, I have never taken a class (or even considered it) on Yoga. I just cannot see myself paying good money to do exercises that to me are highly personal, in front of a group of strangers. I also wonder what exactly they do in those classes? I couldn’t imagine the technique’s mentioned above becoming the latest craze, or gaining any popularity whatsoever.

Yoga, if I am not mistaken is primarily a spiritual practice designed for achieving inner peace, or bring you closer to god and/or heaven. I understand this and because I have read many recommended books on the subject, plus put into action the recommended practices in those books, I believe my understanding is sound.

I do apologize for the sloppy nature of this article as I had no real idea where to begin. This wasn’t really planned as well as I would have liked. I simply just sat down, decided on a subject that I knew a little about and began writing. In the future I will endeavor to write a little more on this subject with more practiced and organized thought.

Do you know what it takes to unite your body, mind, and soul? If you did, do you realize that you would be able to achieve the balance that nearly everyone wishes they had in their lives? Do you know what you need to do for yourself in order to bring about this balance?

Part of uniting these three elements of your person is knowing what makes you passionate. Knowing what makes you passionate will help you get in touch with your soul, to feel creative energy, to feel truly alive. Spiritual or creative passion can help you to achieve those feelings. Whether it is through faith, music, or some other type of artistic expression, you must find what will awaken your soul in order to strike balance in your life. Here are some tips to guide you:

What are your goals for the future? What would you like to ultimately achieve in your life? Is it spiritual enlightenment? Is it social status? Or is it merely to be the best person you can be, and make a contribution to society? What is important, though, is the process by which you attain your ultimate goal. That is what will generate your passion.

Try to focus on the positive, and do not dwell on the negative. Recall you accomplishments and good deeds. Doing this will help keep you positive, and keep your spirit up. If you constantly remind yourself of your mistakes, you will find it harder to succeed down the road, and your mind, body, and soul will work against you.

You have heard of finding your happy place right? This form of meditation helps you take your mind and spirit to a comfortable place that fills you with happiness. This is an ideal thing to do when you are in the middle of a stressful day at work or with the kids; it provides the perfect opportunity to regroup.

Spark a change. Plan a vacation, even if it is just for a weekend. Nothing does the body, mind, and soul better than a little change of scenery. Go where you will be happy, and be able to let loose and have some fun. Try it on your own. It might sound scary, but you will be surprised at how relaxed and refreshed you will be after a weekend all to yourself!

Try some daily affirmations. Pick three things that you can say out loud in the mirror that will help you stay centered, positive, and focused. Saying something often enough has the power to make it true for you. Remember not to dwell on the negative, focus on the positive. Three basic affirmations that you can work from include:

I am safe and secure.

The Universe gives me everything that I need.

My income will continue to increase.

Meditation music can help you find all of these benefits with calming sounds. Meditation and other anxiety reducing wellness practices are critically important in today’s world. By making these healing arts easily accessible, people will attain abundant health, balance, and peace in their lives; we have developed a manifest mix of music that can help you obtain the very culminating meditative state as possible.

This unique healing, meditation music uses resonance to wash away stress, and impeach your body with strong, positive force. This in turn opens your mind to creative encouragement and visions, even peak experiences. Remember, meditation is a personal wayfaring and it is up to you to choose which tools you are going to take along. In addition to soothing approach, hypnosis music and meditation music often consolidate natural elements such as the harmony of ocean waves, passably flowing streams, or birds chirping. Ideal for relaxation, meditation and bodywork, Meditation reveals a new petal in the lotus blossom of Tibetan/Nepali meditation music, a vehicle for cogitative journeys inoculate with the healing aspects of an age-old tradition.

Meditative music has a curing effect on the body, mind, and spirit. It can be extensively classified under the mind-body medicine. More and more doctors are prescribing meditation music as a way to droop blood pressure, enhance exercise attainment in people with angina, help people with asthma breathe easier, relieve insomnia and generally cool off the everyday agony of life. Both joy and misfortune are experienced by mind, and anything done and experienced by mind falls out of the grade of meditation. It is our mind that causes all psychological and emotional diseases.

Binaural Beats favorably metamorphose your brains frequencies. Once your brain is in the right state to soak up, subliminal programming is dramatically mended. You just need to get your headphones on and embark on playing your binaural beat recording. Gradually, your mind becomes more and more still. It is verified by many studies that binaural oscillation frequencies can take the human brain into a immense state of pacification and therefore, it achieves maximum stable state. Brian Editor’s Music is so energetic that within a couple of minutes, specially braid pitch waves start harmonize he left and right hemispheres of the brain (called as hemispheric synchronization). This basically offers establishment in brain chemicals and equations that is much required for the mental peace.

I have had a lot of people make comments to me lately about my positive attitude. At first I wondered, “What’s wrong with that?” but then I realized that I was being complimented for maintaining an attitude that unfortunately is hard to find in the world today. I’ve had still others ask me how I can stay so positive with all that is occurring in my world. My response is….

I choose to live IN gratitude not just with gratitude. You see when you start living every day as if it will be your last day you learn to live IN gratitude. I find that I am more grateful for the child who keeps me up late or wakes me frequently during the night when I realize that I could be living a life without him. I am grateful for the disagreements with my husband because if we did not have them than we could not grow closer as a couple. I am grateful for the struggles that come with trying to get out of debt because they force me to stretch and grow.

I am grateful for so many things and people that if I stop long enough to list them all then I’d spend days — perhaps even weeks or months — on that list.

I am grateful for a mother who after her divorce chose to keep all 6 of her daughters instead of placing them in foster care as was suggested to her. Keeping us together and with her was more important to her than the possibilities of completing her education without us. That taught me the importance of family and that it is possible to get through all trials TOGETHER.

I am grateful for a mother who recognized the need to be with her parents in their last days and moved us 2000 miles to be with them. Money was so tight that she gave us each a suitcase and told us that we could take with us what would fit in the suitcase. This taught me that stuff is replaceable and people are not so we must always put people before things.

I am grateful for 8 children who create very busy days for me. Without them I’m not certain what I’d be doing with each day. My older ones have begun to move out on their own and I wonder if I will enjoy the quiet as much as I enjoy their joyful noise. This has taught me to enjoy every waking moment with each one of them.

I am grateful for the small farm we own and for the opportunity it’s given me to learn more about farm life and animals. It has also given us just one more thing our family can do together as we raise chickens and cows (and a pig if my husband gets his way). We experience tremendous joy as we use the fresh milk for butter, yogurt and cheese. This has taught me that there is joy in self reliance.

I am grateful for a husband who supports me even when he doesn’t completely understand why. He is my “load bearing wall” and without him my world would come crashing down around me. He reminds that there is already so much to be done and helps me to decide if what I WANT to do is something I should really be doing right now. Perhaps it can wait. This has taught me that I must make sure there is time for everyone, including me.

I am grateful for the people who invest in me and remind me that I am worth knowing. It’s so easy in today’s world to feel small and unimportant but we must all remember that we are worth knowing. This has taught me that we must share ourselves with others even though they might not understand how much of our worth we have shared with them. We have touched them anyway.

I am grateful for gratitude for it brings with it more to be grateful for. I have discovered that as I focus on my gratitude list my “needs” and “wants” lists become smaller because I realize those “needs” and “wants” are not really in line with my purpose. The more grateful I am the more in line I am with my purpose and the more clear I am about the path I must follow. I will continue to live IN gratitude and teach my children how to live IN gratitude so they will always know what’s important in life.

What are you grateful for? How long is your list? I challenge you to live one day IN gratitude and then I dare you to return to your life as it used to be….

Have you been under too much stress lately? Or are constantly tired because of work and other commitments? Are you lethargic and need something to boost your energy? Then meditation is for you. Meditation describes a state of concentrated attention on some object of thought or awareness. It is the art of relaxing your mind by turning the attention inward to a single point of reference.

Meditation is one of the oldest arts of India. Hindu religion lays greatest stress on Meditation. According to scriptures Meditation is the path to achieve godhood. Now days many forms of meditation have developed, but the aim is common. In normal practice Meditation is used for many other advantages for body mainly for stress relief, and other medicinal benefits.

What Meditation does-

Meditation is a great to distress or relax. It helps improve concentration. It helps keep an altered state of awareness. It is the suspension of logical thought processes which helps relax the mind. It helps the mind to maintain its self-observing attitude. It helps a lot to get in touch with your mind and soul, which is a rejuvenating experience. It refreshes the mind and soul and keeps it healthy. It helps promote positivism in our mind and get rid of negative thoughts.

There are various methods of meditation. Yoga, prayer, vipasana, sufism, etc. Each of these forms helps to meditate. Meditation is best done in early the morning and in a quiet place. To gain the maximum benefits of meditation, it is best to do it consistently at the same time, everyday. This helps create a pattern and makes it easier to concentrate. Meditation helps keep the mind and soul young and healthy. It is a healthy practice that helps distress and relaxes. Select a peaceful place and begin Meditation. If you can perform it at a set time everyday that will be better.

India is the mother of spiritual practices, meditation, retreats in india, meditation retreats, and meditation technique. The first written book, Rig Veda, comes from India and it is all about the deepest spiritual practices. Most religions like Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism etc. had their birth in India. They are still flourishing here and have produced some of the greatest spiritual leaders in this country.

Meditation in India can be divided into four broad categories — depending upon the propensities of the practitioners, they can choose the path that is best suited to their needs:

a. Jnana Yoga: Path of Knowledge is most suitable for those who have a deep urge to understand before they can accept anything. They want clear rational and experiential proofs before having faith in any knowledge. The meditation practice in this discipline consists of Truth based mantras and analytical inquiry. The inquiry helps dig out all wrong notions and the mantras make one experience the true Self which is absolute awareness and bliss.

b. Bhakti Yoga: Path of devotion is suitable for those whose minds are more love and faith based. They would like to follow a meditation method that would help them develop in their love for God. The devotee believes more in surrendering that in understanding. He will first have faith and then this faith will take him to the sublime experience of the Truth. Surrender to the divine will and deep longing to meet God are the main traits of Bhakti Yoga.

c. Raja Yoga: Path of concentration and awareness is suitable for those who like to practice a witnessing attitude. The witness is free from desires and reactions. The practice is based on certain moral principles without following which, the witnessing cannot shine.

d. Karma Yoga: Path of selfless work helps in making the mind pure and stable and gives immense joy to the practitioner. One who is compassionate at heart and feels that the highest practice consists in helping the needy will be following this path.

For practicing Meditation in India, there are many retreats available in all parts of the country. Wherever you go, you can find true seekers and true masters who will help you find your path and walk on it. These places are called ashramas where seekers create a sort of a sangha and practice together.

Z Meditation Center is the abode of deep spiritual practice for thousands of sincere seekers from all over the globe. The path followed here is that of Jnana Yoga, the path of Knowledge in which Deep Deconditioning Inquiry is practiced alongwith Radiant Mantras in order to realize one’s true Self. The other three paths are used as complimentary aids that help deepen the practice.

Ajay and Suruchi, the founders of Z Meditation, are ever grateful to the Cosmos for giving them this opportunity to serve the suffering humanity through this most sublime and pure work. If you feel ready to let go of your false stories, they will be very happy to help you do the same. This work requires sincerity, objectivity and openness to growing.

Come forward and join this greatest inner revolution. You are going to find many hidden gems in your heart!

BEHAVIORAL ECONOMICS

Key Points:

Choice depends solely on consumer perception not actual quality
Perception depends on how an object is described
People don’t consider objective reality, only perceived value
Lower reference points (or relative values) increase the perceived value
Immediate benefits are more highly valued than future rewards
Loss-aversion is a powerful motivator
Always present definite rather than possible loss-avoidance or gains
Discover the “herd mentality” to avoid rejection
Simplicity increases conversion rates

Perception

When a consumer is presented with information comparing your brand with the competition, the choice depends on how that decision-maker describes the brand, product or service to himself. We are vulnerable to how choices are described, so if you can invest in an approach and presentation (this could be advertising, your website, brochures, your elevator pitch etc) that frames the choice in a way that is perceived as having “more immediate value”, that frame will skew the buyer’s decision.

Decision Making

It has been shown that in situations with increased pressure or ambiguities, experts use intuitive decision-making rather than structured approaches — arriving at a satisfactory course of action without weighing alternatives. How this relates to your business is that people, in general, also take an intuitive approach when it comes to purchase decisions… and there are ways to present your benefits in such a way that prospects don’t even consider the alternatives.

Framing With Relative Values

A powerful way to increase the perceived value of your product or service is to “frame” the information by setting a reference point (often through “formal data”/statistics). For example, “the average sales conversion rate in your industry is 3-5%, but our proven methods offer conversion rates of well over 10%”. There might be cheaper and better options out there, but because of the use of an acceptable reference point, your option is perceived as the best.

Loss Aversion

Sometimes is is better to present benefits as a means to avoid losing something rather than a means to gain something, as loss-aversion is a powerful motivator, as well as framing information in a way that highlights “no-risk” outcomes (as opposed to “probable gain” outcomes). Some studies suggest that losses are twice as powerful, psychologically, as gains. For example, swap “get a $5 discount” (simple gain) with “avoid a $5 surcharge” (loss-aversion).

The Old School VS The New School

The traditional view would advise things like making a product that people like more, or charging less for it perhaps. Whereas, behavioral economics teaches us the importance of ideas such as convincing retail stores to display your product at eye level so people will see your brand first and grab it. There needs to be as much (or more) consideration regarding how people will perceive your product, service or brand as there is thought about how to actually make that product, service or brand better that it’s competition.

Herd Mentality

Because successful sales and marketing messages match up with existing majority views, it is important to understand that “re-educating” a person won’t work. You can’t tell people, ‘You’re wrong, and here is what to think,’ as people tune out or forget things that are inconsistent with their beliefs. This is why a “niche” approach is such a great one, because you’re heavily focussed on a specific targeted group of consumers who already agree that what you’ve got is important, useful or worthwhile.

“Now” Versus “Later”

Where ever possible, benefits should be presented as an immediate gain to the consumer due to “intertemporal choice” where people tend to value immediate rewards higher than future rewards. There’s a fundamental tension in people between seizing available benefits in the present, and being patient for benefits in the future. People definitely want instant gratification, but also desire future outcomes. If you ask people, ‘Which do you want right now, fruit or chocolate?’ they say, ‘Chocolate!’ But if you ask, ‘Which one a week from now?’ they will say, ‘Fruit’.

Equal Energies Produce Real Results

So you can see (I hope) that there should be as much intellectual energy devoted to these design and phrasing choices as to the choice of the product/price details in the first place. Behavioral economics can help us design these choices in much more effective ways, which lead to genuine top-line improvement.
